“The Flat Bread”. What is that maa? Asked Samar to his mom. Samar is 3 and a very shy kid. At this young age, he wants to conquer the world. His questions are endless and so are his expressions. Samar’s mother, Sheela was watching a cookery show, and they said flat bread. And that’s where Samar caught the word. His mom, while making him eat the same flat bread said, “Beta, Roti is also called a Flat Bread”. How different it is when it is called in some different language! But that’s not it. The amazing flat bread “Roti” is the staple food, in many parts of Asia and is now conquering the world’s attention. How is this made? What are the ingredients and how to choose the best one?
To make roti, the first thing required is Atta. The Wheat Atta or the Wheat Flour is the main ingredient. How is the atta made? Wheat crop, once ready is harvested, the pods are removed, best quality grains are selected and are then processed. Once done, they are grinded in either traditional stone grinders or the mills. They are then sieved and packed. This is the general method what is followed. Our previous blogs would surely be helpful in explaining as to why we are different from others and how is the atta made at our end.
